The Kaka in the Kowhai tree (top left) is a real treat. It is seen early morning or on dusk. There are only around 10,000 of them, though numbers are on the increase. The quail is hiding his hens somewhere. The blossom speaks for itself.
Hi Louise,
Haven’t experienced any cheek from the Kaka, its just been pigging out on the nectar in the Kowhai flowers. Its not afraid though, we have been quite close to it and it just ignores us.

Just stunning! Love Kakas! Is he cheeky? Your driveway looks delightful with the blossoms! Must visit again!
